Look for President Obama to propose a three-year “freeze” on federal spending. Why put the word “freeze” in quotes? Because it doesn’t “freeze” much.
Here’s a list of what’s not covered by the “freeze” order:
- Military
- Veterans Affairs
- Homeland Security
- “Certain international programs”
- Social Security
- Medicare
- Medicaid
- The $787 billion “stimulus”
- Other entitlement programs
- The new “jobs bill” (i.e. the next big-government handout making its way through Congress right now)
- The health care bill (it’s not dead yet)
It saves a whopping $15 billion next year. What a joke. Will the media call them out on this?
